Study for a small residential building in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn for international student housing. This study explored the maximum zoning bulk and number of residential units.
The location of the project required careful attention to the base flood elevation. The study provides a resilient ground floor for a community facility and keeps the residential units well above the flood plane.
The simple massing is developed around the efficiency of the design to maintain a reasonable budget for the project, as well as to fit contextually into the neighborhood.
